Deceiving.
To all my NY peeps.
You know when you see that one subway car that would be magically empty when its rush hour, you get hyped as fuck thinking you gonna have a seat and a nice relaxing ride to your destination.
But when you step inside that bitch and it smells like Holy Fuck in there and your face turns OD sour.
You look to the corner and you got a fat ass, smelly ass, homeless motherfucker grilling you out like…
Your let down and now you gotta rush to get your ass into one of the packed ass cars next to the stinky ass, empty one.
Now you holding onto the pole like “DAMN!, nigga got my hopes up and shit,” while you standing shoulder to shoulder with strangers.
Shit is deceiving…
Random NY Fact #16
It’s hard out here for a bum.
"A" Train Riders Stranded in Seven-Hour Ordeal ›
Passengers stuck for several hours on four A trains stalled in snow drifts near Kennedy Airport were finally rescued at about 8 am this morning, NYC Transit officials said.
At least 400 passengers endured a 7-hour ordeal aboard four A trains, one stranded near Aqueduct race track and three others stranded near the Broad Channel train station, said MTA spokesman Jeremy Soffin.
Snow drifts and ice on the third rail have stalled trains at the Broad Channel and Aqueduct stops in Queens, north and south of Kennedy Airport.
A rescue train has been sent to the train stuck at the Aqueduct stop, but the passengers had been stranded since 1am last night.
According to news reports and eyewitness accounts, the stranded passengers were without food, water and access to the bathroom. But NYC Transit said, the stuck straphangers did have access to the bathroom.
The passengers on the train near Aqueduct had heat and we able to exit the train, which was partially in the station, to use the bathroom, Soffin said.
The passengers stranded at the Broad Channel station were able to exit the train, but there was nowhere for them to go, so they were effectively marooned on the train, Soffin said.
NOT.
SURPRISED.
Of all the trains still operating, they allow the vulnerable A that crosses Jamaica Bay out in the open.
This is the kind of stupidity I’m paying $104 a month for next year?

I was waiting for the J Train.
I was at the Delancey Street/ Essex Street station at the very end of the platform. I was reading and listening to music to get my mind of the shit I was going through. I completely oblivious to what was going on around me, and that was just the way I wanted it.
I caught out of the corner of my eye a hard hat rolling on the floor of the platform. I looked immediately to see if someone had dropped it and a hand stabilized it immediately. It belonged to a man who seemed to be a construction worker. I assumed that he was maybe a MTA track worker, but his mesh vest wasn’t the tell-tale bright orange.
He was kneeling down trying to keep his hard hat still and pack his book bag with one hand. Meanwhile, he was keeping his young son still with his other hand. The boy looked like he was around 3, maybe 4. Every time the man let go of him, he would stumble off, so the man felt it was best to keep him still and manage with one hand.
He managed well too… putting his son’s snacks and juice cup away, while pulling out an apple for them too to eat. He had everything set up just as the train pulled into the station, and he lifted both his son and his book bag up and got on the train with me.
I didn’t care about the drama and heartbreak I was enduring. I didn’t care about my book. I was no longer listening to my music. I wasn’t curious about what work he actually did. I didn’t care about where they were going. I didn’t think where he got his son’s fresh ass skully from. The skully was fresh as hell though, it had the mohawk and everything. I didn’t wonder where his son’s mother was.
At that moment, I was just proud to see a Black man being a great father.
Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall/ Chambers Street Station.
One of the most depressing stations in all of the New York City subway system.
